Such a person is risking their political career, and every relationship in the present and the future. I believe Japanese politicians are unlikely to legislate against (pornographic) censorship. ![]() But if it's not subjective then it must be cultural, provided a fair judge. Ignoring just how wildly subjective this is, and is used instead of or, and yet most if not all of Japanese porn is censored of course, this may well be a business strategy to minimise risks. Porn in particular was "tested" by their SC and shown to be obscene because it "arouses and stimulates sexual desire, offends a common sense of modesty or shame, and violates proper concepts of sexual morality". Per Wikipedia, some of the justifications used by their SC is that anything obscene must be censored. "In Japan, genitals are pixelated." Obviously this is just censorship.
